This connected strange stream of sounds was mostly made in quarantine in the months of April and May. With the intention of forming a practice to slow things down, to heal, and to remind myself that life can be small again. And fit in the palm of your hand.
I think, originally, that some part of me had the intention of maybe adding more to these vignette sounds. Building them up from their bedrock forms. But nothing I thought of felt right. And so I kept them mostly as-is, with the exception of several last minute additions.
I asked my friend Lexi Johnson to do the album artwork, and she painted images from both of our separate days stuck at home. I also asked my friends Stuart Wheeler, Jasmine Stack, and Polly Llewellyn to add whatever they felt like to any section of their choice.
All of the above made this feel like a fuller thing. So now I am sharing it in this way, in the hopes that these blended, togethered sounds will heal you in the way that making them has occasionally healed me too.
